Blended Alcohol Technique

I made this card to showcase another way of using our Stampin’ Up’s Blends. This panel on the side is made using a strip of window sheet coloured with Blends, then spritzed with alcohol.

It is a fun technique. It’s easy to do. The longest part is waiting for the alcohol to evaporate so that the ink is properly dry. I ended up using a heat gun to speed up the process which is a good ideas because it spreads the ink around more and creates the marbled look you see on my card.

I did a video of making this card. It’s in two parts as I bumped the camera when I was using the heat gun. Lol. Part one… https://youtu.be/g70SMTehTjk?si=V0HE8VcfgffRSzbZ

Memories and More Albums

I teach Memories and More scrapbooking classes. Each week the focus is on a different technique. We make title cards, filler cards and journal cards to go in our albums.

The Happy Day filler card above was made by creating stripes with the Stampin Blends, then using a colour lifter in the opposite direction to create a gingham pattern.

The Happy Day words are from the Birthday Chick dies. I separated the words out so I could remove birth and just keep day.

Colour Charts for Missing Blends Colours

There are 14 colours in our Stampin’ Up! range that do not have a corresponding Blends pen to go with them. I recently needed both Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry to go with a card I made. It needed to match the DSP also so I decided to try and blend some Blends pens together.

I was pretty happy with the results and would love to share them with you all.

Please email me with Blends chart in the subject bar and I will email you back the charts. (The charts file have all writing printed on, not handwritten as in the photo).

There are a couple of tips that I will email you also.

I am trying hard to direct people to this website so please do not pass on the chart. Instead direct people here so they can request their own.

Many thanks from Rhonda

Blushing Bride Blends

I needed a Blushing Bride Blend pen to colour in these little flowers on a small treat holder and as yet, Stampin’ Up! does not make the Blushing Bride colour. But no worries, as the name suggests, these pens blend together perfectly.
I used Light Flirty Flamingo and Dark Petal Pink. The result is a beautiful Blushing Bride!
Check out the other mix I did last year

Stampin’ Blends

I love our alcohol markers and was pleasantly surprised recently to see just how well they lived up to their name of Blends.
I wanted a marker to match the colour of my paper (lemon lime twist) and found that by using the pineapple punch blend combined with the granny apple green blend, I got the exact colour I wanted.

The leaves are coloured using both the above mentioned colours. The frog is coloured with the granny apple green blend.
