Memories and More album cover

I had a bit if a dilemma when I was decorating my album cover. I had put off doing it for so long but my album was full. It was finally time to finish it properly.

Originally, I kept it simple. Just stamps and ink.

I love the words from this new Peaceful Days stamp set. They are perfect for scrapbooking.

Then I decided I wasn’t completely happy with how plain it was, so I got out my Memories and More Mixed Media Floral card packs and some Stampin Up ephemera, plus retired ribbon and trim to create this cover.

The Designer series paper for the front was a perfect base. Plenty of colour but not too busy, with the pattern only around two edges. The paper is called Painterly Pears and is a new Online Exclusive.

Pinwheel page

This was a fun page to do. Its been a long time since I have made paper pinwheels.

I have used adhesive foam sheets to raise the lettering

The paper is from the recently retired, “Most Adored” pack from Stampin’ Up! I loved the white gold foil designs on this pack. The reverse side was mostly pinks and reds but the white and gold side can be sponged with any colour to match your page colours. I used a blending brush to sponge on Lemon Lolly colour to one of the pinwheels and one of the strips. I added some strips of card stock (Fresh Freesia and Berry Burst) to bring in more colours from the photo.

Pocket scrapbooking with Mixed Media Florals

Today I have a good tip for you.I am answering some questions that I often get asked in class. How do I make use of all the variety pages when I want to put four little photos or cards and I only have pages left that hold full size photos? Or another question is… How do I stop my small photos and cards moving around if they are in a big pocket? This tip will answer both.

Grab a piece of window sheet (acetate) and cut to 6″ x 4″. Tape your photos down. Insert window sheet in large pocket. It totally looks like it is a four pocket page but it’s not and because the photos are tapped down, they don’t move.

I have done the same on the opposite page with two small photos in a small pocket. (Upper left corner).

Products used are Memories and More variety pages. Mixed Media Florals memories and more card pack, Window sheet, tear n tape.

Pocket Scrapbooking

More photos in albums always makes me happy. Here’s one of the latest pages that I been doing.

It uses the Mixed Media Florals Memories and More card pack. You can see all the pack here…https://youtu.be/yZD0ocDj0wE?si=PMME0E-J_AomsoyZ

My layout is pretty simple, I added a filler card plus a strip from another filler card and a couple of stickers and I was finished.

Memory keeping with ephemera packs

I recently purchased the Joyful images ephemera pack from Stampin’ Up! and I used it to create a layout for my Memories and More album.

There were so many printed and die cut images to choose from. Each pack contains 8 sheets of 4 different designs.

I combined a few images together to create filler cards for the pockets in my Christmas Memories and More album.

I love the touch of gold on some of the images. Some images came cut with a white border and some without. I used both in my layout.

The words I used were from the Peaceful Season stamp set and inked with Garden Green ink to match the card and photo mats.

Did you notice the Real Red and Cherry Cobbler banners on the photo above? They lay across two pockets so I had to adhere them to the outside. Have you ever done this? Do you think it’s okay or do you prefer to have everything adhered down and safely contained inside the pockets?

Gratitude Album

The practice of daily gratitude is something that I am passionate about. I have started a gratitude album to record (both in photos and words), things that I am thankful for.

Products used for my title page are Country Woods and Take to the Sky DSP., Simply Zinnia bundle, Wink of Stella pen and clear embossing powder.

To make the Gratitude label, I used sticky tape to make of the words I didn’t want so that I just had the word Gratitude. I inked it in versamark ink, then inked again into navy ink before stamping onto my piece of DSP. I used clear embossing powder. The result is a navy word with a nice raised shine. Not easy to see in the photo. I also used Wink of Stella (glitter pen) on the little stars in the middle of the flowers.

You will notice I coloured the leaves blue. I didn’t want to add a green into my page but that’s the good thing about being creative. You can do it the way you want.

If you feel like leaving a comment, tell me how you “break the rules” when you create.

Paper Tube Embellishments

I made some paper tube embellishments for my vintage scrapbooking page.

They are easy to make. Cut DSP (Designer series paper) to 2.5 cm wide by as long as you want the tube to be. The gray tube are 6 cm long, the brown ones are 6.5 cm long and the middle navy one is 7.5 cm long. Use a bone folder to break the fibres and curl the DSP. Then roll it up on a kebab stick, gluing the side edge down before you take the tube off the kebab stick. Adhere to the page with the seam side down.

I wanted to show the ladies at the scrapbooking class that this type of embellishment could also be used for making a birthday card. I used some retired in colour paper for this simple card. The candle flames are made using a leaf from the bough punch.

Pocket Scrapbooking

Enjoy the Adventure Memories and More card pack makes it easy to complete a pocket album. The cards are printed with a variety of words and backgrounds which you can use as it and slip in the pockets or cut them up, and mix and match as I have done on these pages below.

To make the bubble border, I used a memories and more card with a circle image and highlighted the circle with a stampin’ write marker. The sentiments on this double page layout are stickers which come in the pack.

The following page features my little dog Kobi. Again I cut up some of the cards to use on my page.

This Enoy the Adventure card and sticker pack is currently available while stocks last. It is $4.20 cheaper than advertised price. AND bonus free shipping tomorrow, 19th of April.
