A little Easter Treat

I made these little chocolate treat holders for a team online event plus some extras to give to my travel buddies at On Stage in Melbourne.

They use the Fluffiest Friends stamp set (for the rabbit), the Bee my Valentine stamp set (for the little heart stamped randomly over the box) and the Charming Sentiments bundle.

The little rabbit was originally holding a cupcake but because it was Easter I wanted to change it to something else and I chose a heart, die cut from the charming sentiments dies.. I used the cutting blade on my Take Your Pick tools accessories to cut around the rabbits arms, then I slotted the diecut heart inside.

Little Paper Shoe

I wanted to create a special gift for a new team member, so I made this paper shoe with a template that I purchased some years ago from a lady called Ellen Hutson.

I added a flower to the front of my shoe, made with the punched pieces from the new Petal Park builder punch.

The paper was a recent Sale-a-bration freebie. (Dandy Designs). The flower is from Blushing Bride and Crushed Curry cardstock with a pastel adhesive backed sequin the the centre.

It also is the perfect size to hold one of the small bottles of glue that Stampin’ Up! sells.

Tissue Box Rubik’s Cube style

Today I was having fun making 3D projects. I made this tissue box holder for my son for part of his Christmas stocking. (It’s okay to say that here as he doesn’t visit my website). He loves rubik’s cubes and has a variety of them on his desk. This will add to the collection.

I took a standard cube box of tissues that I bought at the supermarket and I removed the tissues and discarded the box. I made up my own box with each square side being 11 cm x 11 cm. I used a big sheet of cardboard but you could easily do the same with a 12 x 12 sheet and an A4 sheet and just join where the arrow is on this photo below.

Don’t forget to include tabs to glue it together. My tabs were 1 cm wide.

To make the opening for the tissues, I traced around an oval die and handcut out the oval shape. The cutting edge was very messy but was covered by this oval frame that I made by cutting two layering ovals together.

The little coloured squares are each 3 cm x 3 cm. Colours used are Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and a retired blue called Brilliant Blue. You could easily use Pacific Point instead.

Do you know anyone who would like one of these boxes?

Hexagonal box

I designed this box by drawing a hexagon on my grid paper. That was the easy bit. The hard bit was getting the cut and score lines accurate on the sides. While it is okay and it does work, it needs a little more fine tuning yet.

Anyway it does hold quite a few chocolate eggs and it looks lovely decorated with our honey bee stamps and dies and the popular poppy dies.

Blushing Bride Blends

I needed a Blushing Bride Blend pen to colour in these little flowers on a small treat holder and as yet, Stampin’ Up! does not make the Blushing Bride colour. But no worries, as the name suggests, these pens blend together perfectly.
I used Light Flirty Flamingo and Dark Petal Pink. The result is a beautiful Blushing Bride!
Check out the other mix I did last year

Altered Tin

Looking for a quick and easy project? Try an altered tin!
I used an empty sweet tin and covered it with the pretty Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. I made a little flower using the Magnolia Memory dies to go on top. The flower has a tiny bit of Petal Pink sponging in the middle. Very simple but very elegant.

Mosaic Mood Paper Fan

I brought a cheap paper fan from the coin save shop and pulled it apart carefully. I used the original fan as a template to cut out and score one from the pretty Mosaic Mood speciality paper.
My tip would be to use light weight paper, not this heavy paper that I used. It does not fold up tightly due to the heavy paper.
You need to be accurate with your score lines so it does require you to work slowly and patiently; but the end result is very pretty.

Christmas Boxes

These boxes were made as table gifts for my team at our recent On Stage event. They contained sweets and a small acrylic stampin’ block.
Each box is made out of two sheets of A4 card. One sheet for the base and one for the lid.
It took me several goes using scrap paper to make my templates. I wanted the boxes to be strong and to look tidy inside, so there is an extra piece along the side walls that folds down and covers the joins. I also wanted the lids to be a nice firm fit and I was very happy with my end result.
